1. Diagnostic Workshop for Master Gardener Volunteers

    Current Master Gardener Volunteers are invited to attend a diagnostic workshop on Friday July 15, 2016 at Sentinel Vocation Center starting at 9:00 a.m.  The cost for the class is $35.00 and includes lunch, snacks, and handouts.   If you are interested in attending this event, please fill out the registration form and send it in to the Extension Office by July 8 with your payment.  If you have any questions contact Susan Payne 419-447-5047.  

  2. Camp Registration and Scholarship Forms

    2016 Kelleys Island camp registration and camp scholarship forms are now available!!  This year's camp will be Tuesday June 28-Friday July 1.  Forms are avilable through the link below, the camp tab under 4-H Youth Development, or under forms in 4-H Youth Development.  Registration forms and payments are due to the Extension Office by June 9, 2016.  This year's camp fee is $140.00 for 4-H members and $155.00 for non 4-H members.  If you have any questions please call the office 419-447-9722. 

  3. Dog Project Paperwork and Horse and Cattle reminders

    The dog department has three forms that all dog project exhibitors need to fill out and turn into the Extension Office by April 30, along with a front and side picture of the dog.  Please make sure to have your name and club on the back of the picture as well.  Dog exhibitors should turn in:

  4. Letter from Nicole and Showorks Instructions

    Showorks will be active starting May 1, 2016 for members to make livestock entries.  Nicole has included a letter to families about the upcoming fair and instructions for Showorks entries.  All entries must be submitted to Showorks by JUNE 15, 2016.  This is for livestock entries only.  Members taking misc. projects will fill out their entry forms at pre-fair judging on July 13 or July 16.

  5. CARTEENS Scholarship Opportunity

    The Seneca County 4-H CARTEENS program is offering two $500.00 scholarships to eligible high school graduates or who plan to attend post-secondary education in the fall of the current year.  Application must be received in the Seneca County Extension Office by June 1, 2016.  The scholarship is available to all Seneca County 4-H Carteen members who:

    The Seneca County Cattleman are sponsoring a T-shirt contest for Seneca County residents.  The winning design will get a free t-shirt, $35.00, and their design will be showcased on t-shirts to be sold at upcoming cattleman funcations.  If you are interested please see the link below for entry information and requirements.

    Tuesday March 22, 2016, 6:30 p.m. at the Jr. Fair Building on the fair grounds. 

    Saturday April 2, 2016, 9:00 a.m. at Sentinel.

  8. Fair Book Cover Contest

    It's that time of year to start thinking about the fair!  We are asking 4-H members amd Seneca County residents in grades k-12 to get creative and design the cover of the Jr. Fair Book.  The winner will receive a FREE week pass to the 2016 fair, a coupon for a free milkshake at the milkshake stand, and a gift card to Walmart!  All cover need to include "2016 Seneca County Junior Fair Book" and the fair dates of July 25-July 31, 2016.  Covers should be centered on our Outer Space theme.  All covers should be on 8 1/2 X 11 white paper.

  9. Master Gardener Scholarship Application

    Are you a high school senior and planning on attending college to pursue a degree in plant science (agronomy, botany, horticulture, forestry, or landscaping)?  The Seneca County Master Gardener program is offering a scholarship to recent high school graduates or college applicants who current live in Seneca County or are a graduate of a Seneca County high school or Mohawk High School and a Seneca County resident.  The link to the scholarship is below or available at the Extension Office.  Applications and all required materials are due to the Extension Office or Tim Mannas by May 1, 2016...

  10. Sheep Clinic

    There will be a sheep clinic on Saturday March 5, 2016 starting at 9:00 a.m. at Sentinel.  Sheep exhibitors will be able to explore Skill-a-thon stations, meet with local feed and supplement providers, and attend a Quality Assurance session which starts at 9:30 a.m.  If you have any questions please contact the Jr. Fair Office at 419-447-1682.
