The Seneca County Jr. Leadership Club will be hosting a Casino Night this Friday, February 24 from 7:00-10:00 pm at the Youth Center at the fairgrounds. This is open to any youth 14 years old and older. There will be games, prizes, food, and fun!

Because of on going building maintenance, CARTEENS on Monday, February 20, 2023 will be moved to the Seneca County Fairgrounds Food Court. This building is located directly in the middle of the fairgrounds and is the back half of the Senior Fair Office. If you have any questions, please contact the Extension Office 419-447-9722

Are you a high school senior and planning to attend college to pursue a degree in plant science (agronomy, botany, horticulture, forestry, or landscaping)? The Seneca County Master Gardener program is offering a $500 scholarship to high school graduates or college applicants who currently live in Seneca County and a graduate of a Seneca County High School.

The Seneca County Master Gardeners is offering a class for new members starting in 2023. Deadline to apply in order to have a manual for the start of class is Nov. 15, 2022. You can still enroll until Jan. 1, 2023 but you are not guaranteed a manual to start class.
The course consists of 30 hours online study, to be completed at your own pace, and 20 hours of in person "labs" which include field trips, hands on pruning, and so much more! More information and the application can be found at:

I want to see your creative and artistic skills! It is time to provide some Seneca County 4-H apparel. Any Seneca County 4-H youth can bring in or send drawings, pictures, designs of any kind that represent 4-H to the Extension office by Friday, December 16. A panel will then take a look at all of the entries and the one with the most votes will be the one printed on all of our countywide apparel.

The fall Coloring Contest is for anyone age 5-12 years old. Entries can be found on our website at: Entries can be picked up and dropped off and will be displayed at the following locations starting October 17th and through the deadline:

Junior Leadership will be holding Santa’s Workshop again this year on Saturday, December 17th from 1:00 p.m.- 4:30 p.m. at the Extension office. This workshop is open to kids in K-4th grades. Kids will be making a variety of gifts to give to their family for the holidays. Interested kids do not have to be a member of 4-H to join in the fun! The cost is just $10.00 per child. Registration is due by Monday, December 5, 2022 and checks should be made payable to Seneca County Jr.

Get your 2023 Seneca County 4-H Family Handbook! The handbook will be located on our website as an electronic copy, but if you would like a hard copy, they are $6.00. All order forms need to be turned into the Extension office no later than Wednesday, November 30th. Hard copies of the handbook will be available for pick up in January.
