Seneca County Extension will be hosting a Farm Accounting Workshop with Quicken on February 20, 2025 from 9:30 am - 3:30 pm.
The workshop costs $65 per farm business which will include 2 people per computer. But is limited to 10 farm businesses.

The Seneca County Office will be holding a Farm Series for local producers that will include:
Farm Business Plan and Management Structure- October 30, 2024 6-8 pm
Farm Financial Documents and Taxes- November 13, 2024 6-8 pm
Cost Analysis and Budgeting- November 20, 2024 6-8 pm
All workshops will be held at OSU Extension Seneca County.

Nutrient Management Workshop
This workshop will discuss various managementoptions to help adapt your farming system based on the tri-state reccommendations. Rate, timing, placement and source examples will all be discussed
during this workshop. We ask that each participant brings in a soil test report or contacts our offices to obtain a soil sample test. We will help you identify management strageies that can improve your yields or
reduce your inputs with the key goal of profitability. If you attend all 3 sessions, fertilizer credits and CCA credits are available.

Junior Leadership will be holding Santa’s Workshop on Saturday, December 14th from 1:00 p.m.- 4:30 p.m. at the Extension office. This workshop is open to kids in K-4th grades. Kids will be making a variety of gifts to give to their family for the holidays. Interested kids do not have to be a member of 4-H to join in the fun! The cost is just $10.00 per child. Registration is due by Monday, December 2, 2024 and checks should be made payable to Seneca County Jr. Leadership. Registrations and payment can be dropped off or mailed to the Extension Office.

Get your 2025 Seneca County 4-H Family Handbook! The Handbook is your one stop shop to find all of our project offerings and their requirements and what is needed. It also includes teen offerings, scholarship opportunities, calendar of events, and membership and volunteer requirements! The handbook will be located on our website as an electronic copy, but if you would like a hard copy, they are $6.00. All order forms need to be turned into the Extension office no later than Wednesday, November 27th. Hard copies of the handbook will be available for pick up in January.

Growing mushrooms can be a fun and enjoyable experience. With this workshop, you will learn the ins and outs of mushroom production and you will be able to take
home your own Oyster Mushroom starts. You will learn how to start your own mushroom farm or learn how to expand your current operation.

Enjoy a parents night out on Saturday, October 19th from 5-9 p.m. The Seneca County Junior Leadership will watch all ages of children for the evening. Location is at the Seneca County fairgrounds at the Youth Center. We will have snacks and activities for all ages. We will be accepting donations and checks can be made out to Junior Leadership. All registrations are due by September 30th and on a first come first serve basis! We want to ensure that we have enough teens and adults to youth registered.
