Federal funding for SNAP-Ed ended Sept 30, 2025. In Ohio, SNAP-Ed programming continued through Nov. 12. Contact your local Extension office to find out what similar programs might be available in your area. You can also visit celebrateyourplate.org for recipes and other online tools.

March is National Agriculture month. We will be celebrating our local producers all month long! Stop in to the Extension Office to sign a Thank You card to be mailed to one of our hardworking producers in Seneca County. No cost to you and you don’t even have to know a producer, just a simple thank you for their committment to agriculuture in Seneca County.

The Seneca County Jr. Leadership Club will be hosting a Casino Night on Saturday, February 14 from 7:00-10:00 pm at the OSU Extension office. This is open to any youth 14 years old and older. The event is FREE to attend. There will be games, prizes, food, and fun! If you bring a guest, you will receive 20 extra tokens!

The Open House is for any youth 5-18 years old and their families who are interested in learning more about the Seneca County 4-H Program and all that it has to offer. We encourage and welcome anyone who is interested in joining 4-H and learning more to attend as well as current members to discover more about the different project areas. Attendees will be able to look at sample 4-H projects that 4-H members have taken in the past, look through 4-H project books, and speak with 4-H advisors and members about their specific 4-H Club.

Junior Leadership is hosting Officer Training on Monday, March 9 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Sentinel Career and Technology Center. Officer Training is for any newly elected officer or anyone who would like to learn more about a specific office. There will be information on President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, News Reporter, Health and Safety, and Recreation. Participants will leave with more knowledge, resources, and tools to help them be successful in their new role.

Ohio 4-H week is March 15-21. Have you or your club celebrated 4-H week? This is a great time to represent Seneca County 4-H and spread awareness about this great organization. You could wear your club and county 4-H apparel, paint windows, set up a booth, create posters and flyers, present in schools, or work with Tractor Supply Company to set up a table. These are just some ideas in which you can spread the word about 4-H.

Join Junior Leadership on Sunday, November 2nd from 2-5 p.m. at the fairgrounds for some fall fun!! Any youth are welcome to attend! There will be pumpkin painting, gaga ball, yard games, snacks and more! There is no cost to attend, but please sign up by scanning the QR code on our flyer below so we know how many are attending.

Junior Leadership will be holding Santa’s Workshop on Saturday, December 13th from 1:00 p.m.- 4:30 p.m. at the Extension office. This workshop is open to kids in K-4th grades. Kids will be making a variety of gifts to give to their family for the holidays. Interested kids do not have to be a member of 4-H to join in the fun! The cost is just $10.00 per child. Registration is due by Monday, December 1, 2025 and checks should be made payable to Seneca County Jr. Leadership. Registrations and payment can be dropped off or mailed to the Extension Office.
